NORWAY/UK: Allied’s Burgen ‘Cholessterol’ bread includes Abacor soy blend

Norwegian food and pharma group Nutri Pharma’s patented soy composition Abacor has been included in the newly launched Burgen “Cholessterol” bread from Allied Bakeries, one of three Burgen products which will hit UK supermarket shelves over the next few weeks.

Norwegian food and pharma group Nutri Pharma’s patented soy composition Abacor has been included in the newly launched Burgen “Cholessterol” bread from Allied Bakeries, one of three Burgen products which will hit UK supermarket shelves over the next few weeks.

Burgen “Cholessterol” is being marketed as a powerful tool to help consumers lower cholesterol and maintain heart health. The Abacor blend contains soy protein, fibre and phospholipids, which the company claims is more effective at lowering cholesterol than the inclusion of soy protein alone.

Nutri Pharma has been working with Allied for several years to achieve a product that delivers cholesterol-lowering benefits without compromising structure and flavour. Allied enjoys a share of approximately one third of the UK bread market.
