PepsiCo is to shut a snacks plant in Australia after a review of its manufacturing in the country.

The US food and beverage giant plans to close its manufacturing facility at Canning Vale in Western Australia in mid to late 2016.

Speaking to just-food, PepsiCo said the decision came after a “strategic review” of its production network in Australia. The company insisted it was “committed to Australian production” and said it will “invest in upgrading its manufacturing capability” at its other plants in the country to cover production.

It did not comment on the amount of jobs would be affected at the plant.
