Chocolate manufacturer Terravita has posted ambitious market forecasts for 2001, confident that it can build on its success over the last few years and take a place alongside the leaders in the country’s chocolate market; Stollwerck (who controls 23.4%), Wedel (21%) and Kraft Jacobs Suchard (17.2%).

Terravita has been rapidly expanding its range. Chocolate wafers and the launch of fruit juices in 1999 were augmented last year by two new dessert syrups and the capture of a market niche with chocolate figurines. It also produces chocolate advertisements and gifts for private companies.

Throughout this year, Terravita hopes that the launch of new products will allow it to augment its market share from 5% to 10%.
