Finnish food group Raisio is set to launch a Benecol-branded bread in Romania.
Raisio has teamed up with local bakery firm Doprogea Grup in a bid to open up a new market for cholesterol-lowering food in Romania.
Benecol contains plant stanol ester, which is an ingredient patented worldwide by Raisio.
The ingredient is recommended as part of a cholesterol-lowering diet and Raisio has moved to launch Benecol products in various markets, including Colombia, Thailand and Indonesia.
