Russia’s OAO Cherkizovo Group has said that it hopes to take a 20% share of the Russian meat market.
In an interview with the Vedomosti business daily today (18 October), chief executive Sergei Mikhailov said that Cherkizovo’s short-term target is to control 10% of the Russian meat sector – it currently holds a market share of around 6-7%.
Cherkizovo has said that it is boosting its processing capacity and actively seeking acquisition targets.
