PepsiCo subsidiary Frito-Lay is set to open its first potato and corn chip plant in Russia on 3 October.


The plant, which began construction last October, is situated in the Moscow region in the town of Kashira, where Frito-Lay has also invested money into growing potatoes in Kashira, increasing some harvests by 60%.


Frito-Lay’s project in Kashira has a total cost of US$40m.
