Russian meat processor Cherkizovo has provided a mixed update on its first-half sales volumes.

The London-listed firm said today (2 August) volumes from its poultry division, the company’s largest business, rose 34% in the first half of 2012. Pork volumes were up 14%.

However, volumes from Cherkizovo’s meat processing division fell 11%. The company blamed an “inefficient” facility in southern Russia.

Nevertheless, Cherkizovo said prices had increased across all its businesses.
