In response to falling demand caused by consumer fears of bird flu, a number of large-scale Russian poultry farms have reduced their prices by 10%, Kommersant reported today (6 February).

Prices are also being pushed down by competition from cheap imports, the newspaper said.

Analysts have predicted that the combined affect of these negatives will force Russian poultry prices down by 20% to 25% by 2008, the newspaper said.
