Canadian tomato company Serres Sagami is set to buy Quebec-based produce brand Savoura out of receivership.

Serres Sagami said the acquisition should go through "in the coming days" now the deal has received court backing.

"This is obviously a very strategic acquisition for us since it will allow us to strengthen our foothold in Quebec's greenhouse industry. This iconic brand is part of Quebec's agricultural heritage, and it deserves to keep its place on Quebecers' tables," said Serres Sagami president Stéphane Roy.

Savoura's business activities will go on as usual and no changes in staffing are planned, the company revealed.
