South Korean retailer Lotte Shopping has reported a 15.3% gain in first-half net income on higher profits from its discount stores.
For the six months to the end of June, net income amounted to KRW452bn (US$381m) compared to KRW392bn in the prior year period.
Operating income climbed to KRW590bn from KRW452m a year ago, while sales rose 14% to reach KRW5.8trn.
In the second quarter, net income increased 1.3% to KRW202bn; operating income climbed to KRW297bn, a 32.9% increase on the prior year.
Revenue grew 15% to KRW3.32trn.
