Spanish food manufacturer Ebro Foods has signed a joint distribution deal with Japanese conglomerate Marubeni Corp.

The agreement will see Marubeni and Ebro supply long-grain rice in Asian markets, especially Cambodia. Ebro will also distribute Maribeni’s products in “new geographical areas,” the company said, including Europe, America and the Middle East.

Ebro was coy about the exact details of the deal. However, a spokesperson said the agreement would “guarantee the supply of raw materials and the availability of an important allied company in Asia for the introduction of our products”.

Ebro declined to comment on the types of products it will sell and what brand they will come under.
