Spanish food maker Grupo Siro has opened an R&D facility to develop a range of new products for the business.

The company, which makes pasta, bakery and confectionery products, has spent EUR6m (US$7.6m) on the site, which is based in El Espinar in northern Spain.

Grupo Siro said it plans to look at developing a series of products, including those for consumers that are intolerant to gluten and those designed specifically for children.
