Spain’s Grupo Ybarra has signed a deal to locally produce certain Heinz sauces from next year.

Ybarra, which produces a range of foods from pasta sauces to mayonnaise, said it will produce the sauces at its manufacturing facility in Seville.

The Spanish firm said it had discussed “multiple possibilities” of co-operation with Heinz but that the two sides had “initially” agreed on this production deal.

“This agreement consolidates the expansion of Grupo Ybarra as a major foodstuff company, opening new international business possibilities to be developed by both companies,” Ybarra said.

Officials at Heinz could not be reached for immediate comment.
