Preserved Food Specialty Co is set to launch a range of small dried fish pieces in the shape of characters from popular Japanese cartoons Pokemon and Sanrio.

Managing director Worapars Mahattanobol explained to the Bangkok Post that the launch is part of an initiative to use the company’s production capacity to the full.

The products, which are made from surimi, or minced fish, are being sold to Japanese restaurants in Thailand as a topping for instant noodles. They are likely to be launched in the Thai retail market next year, Worapars added.
