Japanese/Thai joint venture company Siam Jusco says it is restarting its supermarket expansion campaign.

The company last opened a new branch six years ago, but said it plans to open two or three new stores next year, and up to eight by 2009.

Siam Jusco has been operating supermarkets and general merchandise stores in Thailand since 1985, but it intends to focus primarily on supermarkets from now on, offering an improved range of fresh and instant foods.
