The Coconut Collaborative, a UK maker of yoghurt made from coconut milk, has secured listings in France.

The company said three lines will be sold in 70 Franprix and 75 Monoprix outlets from the middle of this month. By the end of June, two frozen Snowcount yoghurts will also go on sale.

The business was set up last year by nutritionist Steve Bessant and James Averdieck, the founder of UK desserts business Gü.

Averdieck said the brand was the first coconut milk yoghurt launching on the market in France. "Our expansion marks the next chapter for The Coconut Collaborative and we believe the French market is prime for healthy alternatives to every day food choices. Our range of chilled and frozen products harnesses every nutritional benefit the milk has to offer, as well as the incredible taste," he said. "This is just the start of wider roll out in France, with other major retailers set to launch in the autumn."
