Turkish meat processing plant Et 2000 has resumed production under a five year lease period with co-patriot food company Guney Gida.

Cihat Mihlar, Et 2000 general manager and management board member, told local newspaper Dunya of the reopening earlier today [Wednesday].

The Et 2000 plant covers an indoor area of 7,500m² and has a production capacity of 600 tonnes of sausages, salami, ham, smoked meat and meatballs a month. Opened in 1999 by MBT Turizm Pazarlama, the plant suspended operations in February 2001 due to the economic crisis which hit the country.
