Supermarket group Asda, a subsidiary of US discount giant Wal-Mart, has revealed details of a £144m (US$225m) investment programme devised to create a new concept city store in Walthamstow, north-east London.
The chain, which has boosted sales with a substantial non-food offering, said that the new store will focus solely on food and offer a new range of hot and cold “food to go”, including pizza and curries.
The new outlet will open this week.
