Asda, the UK supermarket chain, has announced it is permanently cutting the prices of 100 organic goods by 18% as an act of faith in the market. Asda will also unveil a new range of own label organic foods later this year at lower prices.

Organic co-ordinator, Harvey Bennett, responding to recent bad press surrounding organics including Iceland‘s decision to ditch its idea to go all organic said: “We have got every faith in organic produce – it’s not just a fad. It’s here to stay.”
