Wal-Mart’s UK supermarket chain Asda is opening a new 110,000 square foot store, which will be its biggest, in Milton Keynes on Saturday.

The store will be open at 8am to welcome Charmaine Daoud, chosen as local hero for her extraordinary fundraising efforts for local charities in Milton Keynes, Asda said.

Charmaine will be treated to a VIP breakfast and will be the first customer to preview the new ASDA Supercentre. She will then join Store Manager, Tim Sparrow to cut a giant till roll and declare the store officially open.

“Charmaine is remarkable and we are honored that she has joined us to help celebrate our store opening,” Tim Sparrow, general store manager.

The superstore in Milton Keynes, which has created 800 new jobs, will welcome 60,000 customers through its doors in the first week, Asda said.
