UK crisp manufacturer Burts has teamed up with drinks giant Diageo to launch Guinness flavour crisps.

Guinness Burts Chips are being launched in the UK after six months of work by Guinness flavour experts and Burts’ own team at the crisp maker’s factory in Devon, southern England.

“We are confident that consumers will react very positively,” said Burts marketing director Leane Bramhall. “Guinness is one of the world’s most popular beers, and everyone knows that there’s no better combination than a pint and packet of crisps.”

Burts said it hopes the crisps will help it to gain share of the UK’s growing snacks market. Diageo, meanwhile, believes the launch will expand the number of Guinness consumers.
