It has been claimed that British confectionery and soft drinks giant Cadbury Schweppes cut its ties with a Saudi Arabian company last month after it discovered that the firm had links with the family of high-profile terrorist Bin Laden.

According to an article in the Daily Mail, Cadbury found out in May that with its takeover of US group Snapple Beverages last year, it had also acquired the Saudi General Food & Consumer Goods Company (GFC).

A member of Bin Laden’s family is known to be a minority shareholder of GFC, and Cadbury has since dissolved links with the firm.
