City Centre Restaurants has posted an increase in sales for the first half of this year, until 30 June, but still made a loss after an exceptional write-down of £5.3m (US$7.75m) on the value of its Wok Wok brand.


The group, which also controls the Caffe Uno and Est Est Est brands, revealed that turnover for the six months had reached £109.2m, up nearly 6% on last year’s £103.1m. Pre-tax losses were calculated at £6.3m on profits of £5.1m, leaving losses per share of 3.77p (and earnings of 1.97p).


The interim dividend will be held at 0.75p. Losses per share were 3.77p (earnings of 1.97p)
