Dairy Crest has seen a marked increase in its non-dairy doorstep delivery business during the first half of the year, the company told just-food today (5 January).
“We started offering organic fruit and vegetable boxes 18-months ago,” a Dairy Crest spokesperson explained. “This business is now worth about GBP1m. It grew by 29% in the first six months of the year.”
According to the company, its customer base has shown signs of growth during the period, with doorstep delivery of dairy and non-dairy products increasing in popularity. Dairy Crest’s milkmen now deliver an average of 13 kilogrammes of potatos each a week, the company said.
