Former Tesco executive Peter Wright will join the board of UK chocolatier and retailer Thorntons as marketing director. The appointment will come into effect before 13 August.
During his eight years at Tesco, Wright held various senior marketing positions, including UK director for brand marketing, UK director for stores and non-food marketing and, most recently, marketing director for Tesco, Ireland.
Commenting on the appointment, Thorntons chief executive Mike Davies said: “Peter has considerable experience and track record in both retail and FMCG marketing. We believe that his expertise will help us further strengthen Thorntons and facilitate the delivery of our sales and marketing led strategy.”
