Leicester-based Express Dairies has said that the first few weeks of its trial to deliver mail with milk has seen “good demand”.

The Postal Services Commission granted Express Dairies an interim licence to deliver business mail to UK households as part of an initiative to dismantle Consignia’s mail monopoly and create opportunities for a competitive market.

A report in the Financial Times welcomed the licence as a means for Express Dairies to “reclaim the doorstep” by “rekindling a relationship with households that choose to buy milk elsewhere”.
