The Food and Drink Federation (FDF), which represents food and drinks manufacturers in the UK, has appointed Helen Munday as director of food safety and science.


Munday, who will officially take up her role on 26 November, will be responsible for the development, implementation and promotion of FDF’s policy with respect to scientific, technical and regulatory issues.


Heading up the FDF’s food safety and scientific team, her specific responsibilities will include the evaluation of Government and EU policies as they affect the UK food and drink industry, and the representation of FDF’s policy to a wide range of stakeholders in the UK and EU.


Munday is currently head of research at the Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition, part of Mars UK, and has 20 years’ experience as a scientist in the food industry with specific expertise in health and nutrition.
