Workers at two plants operated by UK food company Grampian Country Food Group have gone on strike following the breakdown of pay negotiations.

Employees at plants in Anglesey and Flintshire walked out at midnight last night, and some 600 employees have reportedly joined picket lines outside those two facilities today.

Another of the company’s factories, at Gaerwen, also on Anglesey, are expected to join the strike next month.

The dispute follows a pay-freeze at the company, instituted by management earlier this year.
