UK bakery firm Greggs has said it has appointed Bill Wadsworth as its new technical director.

In the newly created role, which is based at the company’s Newcastle headquarters, Wadsworth will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategy and policies regarding all technical operations within the business, reported The Journal.
Wadsworth has previously been employed as technical director of Iceland Foods and Express Dairies.
“The creation of this role of technical director highlights the importance we attach to maintaining a continuous flow of new and improved products and services that reflect customer expectations and their changing tastes,” Greggs’ managing director, Sir Mike Darrington, was quoted by The Journal as saying.
