A McDonald’s outlet in Scotland has had to shut down a facility offering free Internet use in the restaurant after customers accessed sexually explicit material.

Customers at the Kilmarnock branch of fastfood chain McDonald’s were given fifteen minutes of free Internet access with the purchase of a £1.99 (US$3.10) MegaBreakfast.

The outlet was told to close down the service, however, after it was discovered that people were able to view pornographic images using the service, reported Ananova.

A spokesman for McDonald’s said: “Until we can find a way of firewalling this facility, it will stay closed. The Internet is a great service for customers but we can’t allow it to be abused like this.”
