The recent merger between catering companies Wilson Storey and Halliday Catering has produced what directors believe is the largest privately owned catering group in the UK. Wilson Storey Halliday Group is expecting annual revenue of £25m and its owners are optimistic about the potential for further growth.

Because of increased consolidation within the market, the public is crying out for independent caterers, explained Alastair Storey, who created Wilson Storey at the beginning of this year with a former colleague at Granada Food Services, Keith Wilson.

“There is a widespread presumption that the tremendous consolidation in this industry has brought enormous benefits. We, on the other hand, are convinced that what clients seek is personal attention from key management, creative thinking and value for money.”
