Arla Foods’ UK arm has again raised the price it pays to members of its milk suppliers.
The company said that it would pay members of the Arla Foods Milk Partnership (AFMP) a further 0.4 pence a litre from 1 June. That takes the price of a standard litre up to GBP0.19 (US$0.38).
“Our milk price will be at the top end of industry returns,” said Peter Walker, director of milk procurement at Aral Foods.
“In addition, as a result of our relationship with Asda and Tesco, from August around 60% of our members will receive a significant further premium over the Arla base price.”
