Northern supermarket chain Morrison’s is preparing to take early advantage of new EU laws on car sales, by establishing a joint venture with car dealership Lookers that will allow its customers to buy  a new motor along with their baked beans.

The new rules, due later this year, will overturn the hold of car manufacturers over where their vehicles are sold.

Lookers revealed yesterday [Monday] that the joint venture will see it establish an Internet-linked booth in three Morrison’s stores. Through these look4cardeals.com concessions, shoppers will be able to browse for new cars and the latest deals under the guidance of the car dealer’s staff.
