A new ovenproof tray, specially designed for the frozen and chilled ready meals market, has been launched in the UK by global packaging firm Hartmann.


The company said its dualpack® ovenware™ has been developed to preserve and protect delicate foodstuffs as well as providing a range of end-user benefits.


The product remains ‘cool to touch’ from the freezer to the moment when it is taken directly from a hot conventional oven or microwave.


Made from moulded fibre paper pulp with a thin PET coating on the inside, the tray is designed for maximum efficiency in both conventional and microwave ovens up to 220°C, and can be frozen down to minus 40°C.
