PepsiCo has added two products containing toppings to its Quaker porridge pots range on sale in the UK.
From next month, the US food and drink giant will sell two Quaker Oat So Simple pot lines with toppings.
Chocolate chunks or strawberry pieces will be held in the pot’s lid and can be added to the porridge.
Group marketing director Patrick Kalotis said Quaker Oat So Simple had become the “fastest-growing” of the top ten cereal brands in the UK and insisted innovation had been key.
Kalotis said the Pots range had “further transformed” the market for breakfast products by tapping into two trends – demand for “on-the-go” products and for healthier options.
“The addition of the toppers variants is set to drive sales even further,” he added.
