Snack food product Pot Noodle is the UK’s most hated brand, a new survey conducted by marketing agency Joshua has found. The next most-hated food company is fastfood giant McDonald’s, coming in fourth in the Marketing magazine survey of ‘brands we love to hate’.

Internet search engine Google is the UK’s most loved brand. Despite recent negative publicity surrounding the Office of Fair Trading investigation, Tesco was the second most-loved company. Tesco, the survey found, was admired for being a globally dominant British firm.

However, Marketing magazine found, this admiration doesn’t necessarily mean sales. “Consumers’ feelings of warmth, nostalgia and even patriotism for some brands will not stop them buying rivals if they offer better value or convenience,” the research found.
