PZ Cussons is preparing to fully launch its Rafferty’s Garden baby food brand in New Zealand.

The consumer products group, which acquired the Australian business last summer, is pushing forward with plans to boost the brand’s presence in overseas market.

“The international expansion of Rafferty’s Garden, acquired last year, will commence shortly with the launch of the range into the New Zealand market,” PZ Cussons said yesterday as part of an update on group trading.

When probed by just-food on the details surrounding the launch, a spokesperson said the company was “unable to disclose” any further details “for commercial reasons”.

Last month, PZ Cussons expanded further in food with the acquisition of Australian organic yoghurt firm Five:Am.

In its trading update for the period from 1 June to 22 September, PZ Cussons said Five:Am had “shown pleasing performance to date with growth in line with expectations”.
