An increase in demand in Europe, the US and the Far East has seen The Scottish Salmon Co. report higher sales and profits for the first half of 2014.

Net profit for the half ending 30 June was up 25% to GBP15.3m (US$25.4m). EBIT was increased to GBP23m. Sales grew to GBP61m from GBP42m for the same period a year earlier.

Scottish Salmon’s second quarter followed a similar pattern with net income up 22% at GBP7.6m. EBIT increased 37% to GBP12.5m. Revenue grew to GBP33.8m from GBP23.7m for the same period a year before.
