Salt-free crisps, made by UK snack manufacturer Seabrook Potato Crisps, became available in shops at the weekend.

The Bradford-based company’s new products contain only potato and vegetable oil, reported The Times.

The move comes amid repeated calls by the UK’s Food Standards Agency for food manufacturers to reduce the amount of salt in their products. Eating too much salt can raise blood pressure, and high blood pressure increases the risk of stroke and coronary heart disease.
