Tesco has become embroiled in a trademark dispute with Austrian drinks company Eckes-Granini over the retailer’s new Yoo yoghurt brand.
Eckes-Granini has filed its opposition to Tesco’s use of the trademark with the Intellectual Property Office.

An IPO spokesperson told just-food that Eckes-Granini believes it has an earlier right to the name with its Yo squash brand.
Eckes-Granini has held the European Union trademark to the name since 1999.
Tesco declined to comment on the proceedings. Eckes-Granini was not available for comment.
