US-based chemical firm International Specialty Products has announced that its subsidiary, ISP Food Specialties (UK), has acquired the business and assets of Red Carnation Gums (RCG), excluding its tea warehousing business.

RCG is a manufacturer of emulsifiers, stabilisers and gelling systems. The company’s headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Essex, UK.

“ISP continues to seek bolt-on acquisitions of companies that have high value food ingredient and specialty chemical products with strong technical competencies. Acquiring the business of RCG further strengthens our global food ingredient business,” said Sunil Kumar, ISP president and chief executive officer.
