UK sugar and ingredients firm Tate & Lyle has announced the launch of Carb Optimizer 30 Yogurt Base Ingredients, a new solution set for low-fat, low-calorie, low-sugar yoghurts in the US.

The company said the solution set is one of Tate & Lyle’s Rebalance System for dairy’ ingredient solutions, aimed at building healthier profiles for food and beverage brands without compromising on taste.

Tate & Lyle said the new formula delivers 30% less sugar and 30% fewer calories (per 170 gram serving) when compared to the 1% yoghurt of the market leading brand. It can be used to create a gelatin-free product that provides 20% of the recommended daily calcium intake and a reduced glycemic carbohydrate content.
