Barry Callebaut has announced plans to open its first US chocolate academy alongside its North American headquarters in Chicago.
The Chicago chocolate academy will act as a training centre for professional chocolate users and will help foster demand in the US market, a spokesperson for Barry Callebaut told just-food today (25 September).
“Through our international chocolate academies we hope to build new relationships and strengthen existing relationships with food professionals around the world. We look to educate on the uses of high-quality chocolate,” the spokesperson commented.
There are currently a total of 12 academies in locations throughout Europe, China and India.
Barry Callebaut chocolate academies offer seminars, demonstrations, theoretical courses and practical workshops designed to “inspire” artisans and culinary professionals, including pastry chefs, confectioners, bakers and caterers.
