US-based BJ’s Wholesale Club has increased its earnings guidance for the full year as net income rose 32.2% during the third quarter.

The company is now forecasting US$133.6-$135.6m in net income for the full year, an increase on the previous guidance of $128.5-$134.5m.

Net income for the quarter ended 30 October, net income reached $17.4m, despite an $11.7m settlement due to wage and hour job classification claims.

Net sales for the quarter increased 4.8% to $2.57bn.
