A generation of Americans have been left confused and mystified by the abundance of health and nutrition information they receive, according to a survey

The survey of 1,086 Baby Boomers showed that one-half of the generation were frustrated by “conflicting health and nutritional information”, and half found it difficult to stay current on health and nutritional information.

In addition, the Healthy Boomer survey by General Mills showed that more than four out of 10 Boomers were overwhelmed by “inconsistent” health reports and said they hear too much data about health and nutrition that is not relevant to them.

The research showed that three-quarters of Boomers received most of their trusted health and nutritional information from doctors and nutritionists, followed by health related Web sites – which occupied a quarter of the time when searching for information.
