Growing sales in North America and Europe have boosted third-quarter profits at US natural and organic foods group Hain Celestial.
The New York-based group said yesterday (3 May) that net income soared 37% to US$12.4m during the three months to 31 March. Net sales jumped 21% to $237.9m.
President and CEO Irwin Simon said the company’s sales and earnings growth accelerated during its third quarter.
Simon said: “Internationally, we are encouraged with the progress we are making in Hain Celestial Europe, and especially the United Kingdom, as we implement our strategy there and adjust our offerings to the specific overseas markets.”
Simon added that Hain Celestial has been making “significant progress” in Asia with its deepening relationship with Singapore conglomerate Yeo Hiap Seng.
