Campbell Soup Co. has appointed Joseph Spagnoletti as senior vice president and chief information officer.

Spagnoletti will report to Campbell president and chief executive officer, Doug Conant.

Spagnoletti, 43, succeeds Doreen Wright, who led the successful implementation of SAP across the majority of Campbell’s North American operations. Spagnoletti’s appointment is effective from 1 August.

Spagnoletti will be responsible for overseeing Campbell’s global information technology (IT) function and providing IT strategy.

He will also be responsible for completing Campbell’s SAP implementation. He will lead Campbell’s worldwide IT department and manage all technical and application information systems.

Conant said: “Joe Spagnoletti was selected for this critical role for the character, competence and teamwork he has exhibited during his 11-year career at Campbell.”

Commenting on Wright’s departure, Conant added: “Doreen will leave a lasting legacy on Campbell Soup Company, both within the IT department and beyond. She has made important contributions to Campbell’s transformation over the past seven years.”
