US food and consumer goods group Sara Lee Corporation has announced that Cynthia B. Carroll has resigned from its board of directors.
The company said that Carroll had left the board in order to concentrate on her work as CEO of mining group Anglo American, a position she took up in March.
“We thank Cynthia for her contributions to the board of directors,” said chairman and CEO Brenda C. Barnes. “We greatly appreciate her global perspective and leadership skills.”
Sara Lee also announced that Wayne R. Szypulski has retired from his position as senior vice president and chief accounting officer. Szypulski joined Sara Lee in 1983, and has held various financial positions, including vice president and controller, assistant corporate controller, director of accounting projects and manager of accounting.
The company has named Richard A. Hoker, who was appointed senior vice president and controller in January, as principal accounting officer. Hoker joined the company in 1996.
