Sara Lee Corporation, the US food and consumer goods giant, has appointed Tom Hansson as senior vice president, strategy and corporate development.
Hansson (46), who is to take up his appointment on 8 January, will be responsible for the company’s strategic plans to drive long-term growth across its businesses worldwide, reporting to chairman and CEO Brenda Barnes.
“We are very pleased that Tom is joining Sara Lee as we work to further strengthen our competitive position and drive consistent growth across the company,” Barnes said. “Tom’s deep expertise in strategic planning, plus his extensive global business experience, makes him an ideal person to lead Sara Lee’s strategy and corporate development function.”
Hansson joins Sara Lee from consultants Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was a US-based lead partner in the group’s Strategic Leadership Practice. He was previously with Boston Consulting Group, working in the UK and Germany.
