US food group Hillshire Brands is launching a line of “premium” all-natural lunchmeat.
The range, Hillshire Farm Naturals, comes in four varieties: slow roast turkey breast, hardwood smoked turkey breast, honey roasted ham and Black Forest ham.
The company said the products are free from artificial ingredients, preservatives or added nitrites/nitrates.
The range will be available in the packaged deli meat section of stores throughout the US from this month, with an RRP of US$4.48 per pack.
Since spinning off from Sara Lee in 2012, Hillshire Brands has focused on growing its business in the higher-margin, branded space.
The company, which entered into a US$8.55bn agreement to be acquired by Tyson Foods last month, has focused its innovation pipeline on its portfolio of brands including Hillshire Farms, Ball Park and Jimmy Dean.
